Here’s something a little different!
I teamed up with ReadbyRebecca to do the Book Blogger Confessions tag, which I found via The Book Loving Nut on blog spot. Make sure to check out Rebecca’s blog, she’s lovely.
To complete this tag you simply had to answer the following questions truthfully.
1. Which book, most recently, did you not finish?
In December, I attempted to read Game of thrones for the 3rd time but as always I resorted back to watching the show! I can’t help it, I have no self control.
2. Which book is your guilty pleasure?
I definitely think Twilight. Those books sparked my love for reading back when I was 12. Regardless of all the bad rep surrounding them, I’ll always have fond memories of falling in love with a fictional story for the first time.
3. Which book do you love to hate?
Most recently, Cursed Child. I couldn’t believe that J.K Rowling had had anything to do with it, as it was basically a bad fan-fiction. I’m seeing the show next month so perhaps I’ll write my thoughts about that experience on my blog, when the time comes.
4. Which book would you throw into the sea?
Safe sails, Isla and the happily ever after. Perkins’ books always let me down near the end, but Isla killed me the most. I’m really not a fan of melodrama and whilst I understand contemporaries need emotional conflict to develop the plot, the characters and relationships always felt unrealistic by the end.
5. Which book have you read the most?
I think I’ve read Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout the most. That book is like comfort food to me. I absolutely adore Katy and Damon’s conflicted relationship, It’s hilarious.
6. Which book would you hate to receive as a present?
I read Too Late by Colleen Hoover on my phone last year and, again, I couldn’t handle the unrealistic melodrama that seems to leech itself onto most of the contemporaries I read. Ugh. If anyone has any recommendations for some lighthearted, down to earth contempts that don’t stray too far into the ridiculous, It would be very much appreciated.
7. Which book could you not live without?
Its not one book, but an entire world which has changed my whole view on fiction. Cassandra Clare has created a whole world entirely and no matter how old I’ve gotten, I still can’t wait for her next book to be released. The shadowhunter universe chronicles the lives of an entire race within different time periods. It’s a heart felt series that pushed me to pick up more books at a time when I needed a distraction the most.
Oh and Harry Potter too, but I wanted to mix things up a little.
8. Which book made you the angriest?
Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue have both given me immense satisfaction but also bucket loads of frustration. The way in which Gwen is treated by her cousin, aunt and most members of the guardians irritates me to no end. Gwen is treated like a dumb animal, constantly underestimated and I cannot wait for her to prove them all wrong when I finally read the last book.
9. Which book made you cry the most?
I’ve cried at lots of books whenever I truly get invested, but Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma broke my heart. The story was difficult because throughout you continuously feel conflicted, but by the end your simply left devastated.
10. Which book cover do you hate the most?
The Vampire Academy covers completely disregard the actual contents inside the books. The series is focused on friendship, love and immense bravery. Not to mention are protagonist, Rose Hathaway, is actually a person of colour. The random white women scattered across each book are connected in no way at all. Whoever did the marketing has let this series down immensely. Hopefully one day they’ll give the series some justice with something kick-ass like the Throne of Glass cover illustrations.
This tag was a lot of fun so why don’t you give it ago?
